南西諸島の奄美大島と沖縄本島から記載された。同種と思われる個体が西表島と台湾から採集されている。Liothrips属の種と同時に採集されており、恐らくそれらの幼虫を捕食するものと思われる。

This species was described from Amami Is. and Okinawa Is. in the Ryukyu Islands. It is also recorded from Iriomote Is. and Taiwan. It had been collected together with certain Liothrips species, and probably preys on their larvae.
